Available for purchase is this one of a kind piece of cutlery. The Pattern Welded Chefs Knife is one of two knives made from the very first pattern welded billet created at Enso Forge. Constructed from 1084 high carbon steel and 15n20 nickel-bearing steel, the pattern that can be seen in the blade is formed through various cycles of  forge welding, cutting, re-stacking, welding, and manipulating, until it is finally forged into a knife.

The blade profile is great for a variety of kitchen tasks. Its long enough for single draw cuts, tall enough for stability, and thin enough for delicate work. The flatter profile of the cutting edge towards the heel is excellent for users who prefer to push cut, while the upswept tip still allows for rock chopping. It has a thin convex geometry and a distal taper from the heel to the tip, serving to reduce drag and promote food release while maintaining strength behind the cutting edge.

The handle is shaped from a piece of stabilized ironwood and features facets that reflect the light beautifully when observed. Its been paired to a decorative fire blackened steel bolster, which not only compliments the look of the overall piece but adds strength at the transition between the blade and handle. The handle and bolster are secured using a marine grade epoxy and also as a through tang construction, which uses a stainless steel retention nut to apply positive pressure towards the blade and keep everything tight.
