Black Carbon Chefs Knife

$1,500.00

Description

Available for purchase is this one-of-a-kind handmade piece of cutlery. The concept for this knife was inspired from the design and materials of high performance exotic cars such as Mclaren, Lamborghini, etc. (which I’ve always loved.) The blade was forged from 52100 high carbon steel and features a coffee blackened finish, a full distal taper, and a convex grind thats thin behind the edge. 52100 is an ideal steel choice for culinary knives due to the toughness, edge retention, edge stability, and corrosion resistance that the small amount of added chromium provides.  52100 will take a razor sharp edge and also sharpen easily.

The most unique feature of this knife is the anodized frame handle. It was constructed from 6061 anodized aluminum and carbon fiber, which has been faceted and heirloom fit. The aluminum frame fits into the bolster and is secured using a threaded rod and nut that is hidden inside the handle. The carbon fiber scales were then attached using 9, 1/16″ brass pins and marine grade epoxy. The Black Carbon Chefs Knife is a unique piece of high performance cutlery that is sure to be cherished no matter if its in the kitchen or the collection.
