A little bit of friction

By admin on December 14, 2023December 14, 2023

Recently I was commissioned to make a friction folder similar to one I had made for myself a while back. I was a bit apprehensive because my forte lies in fixed blades and culinary knives, and this would only be my second ever folding knife, but I accepted the challenge. My passion for making all kinds of things left me unable to resist the urge to actually try and create a nice folding knife. The piece I had made for myself was pretty crude and i knew that with some time and effort, could be refined a great deal. Friction folder 2.0 is definitely much more refined all the while maintaining my own creative style and I’m happy with how it turned out. I think its a good thing to challenge yourself and to have a little bit of “friction” in your work. Without it we will never be able to get closer to our potential. The apprehension that I initially felt has now turned into inspiration and curiosity and now I’m looking forward to the next one.
